Benefit Concert for Bohuslav Martinu Institute

On 18th of December during the Advent a first of its kind benefit concert is held symbolically at the Hall of Martinu in the Liechtenstein Palace. The concert is dedicated to Bohuslav Martinu, one of the most productive and universal composers of 20th century.

Two pianists, Enrico Pieranunzi and Robert Kolinsky, are performing at the concert. The program consists of great pieces, such as American in Paris or Duke’s Dream. We absolutely cannot omit the jazz improvisation performance on the theme of Bohuslav Martinu’s works.

Bohuslav Martinu Institute organizes this concert to fund its main activity. That being the project of publishing all Bohuslav Martinu’s works. First two albums were already published in both languages, Czech and English, by major world-class publisher Bärenreiter at the beginning of the year 2015. These albums, featuring Epic of Gilgamesh and Symphony No. 4, where publicly revealed during the initial celebrations of this year’s festival Smetanova Litomyšl. The institute plans to release two new albums every year.

BOHEMIAN HERITAGE FUND will support this exclusive benefit concert by attending the concert.
