Ivan Klánský was awarded the Garnet Star

The Czech piano virtuoso became the first man with the award of the Garnet Star which is awarded by Bohemian Heritage Fund to personalities of Czech art for their lifelong contribution to Czech cultural heritage. The award was in the past received by Zuzana Růžičková and Soňa Červená. Professor Klánský accepted the award in person on 1 May in Prague Rudolfinum after a recital from works of Fryderyk Chopin which took place on the occasion of this 70th birthday.
